Latvia's national radio visited Latgale, producing a feature on the seed exchange movement in Latvia and the efforts of seed saver ambassadors.
"The most valuable seeds are those grown right here in Latvia, especially if they are inherited from our mothers and grandmothers, having endured countless frosts and hardened in Latvia's challenging climate. Ilze Mežniece, one of the seed saver ambassador in Latgale, firmly believes this. She also emphasizes the independence that comes with growing one's own seeds, as they ensure a reliable food source for families."
