A Handful Of Peas For The Future

A project implemented by the National Botanical Garden and Latvian Permaculture Association, and funded by the Latvian Environmental Protection Fund;
"The first stage of the creation of a heirloom plant
collection in the National Botanical Garden"

A harvest of hope: Fourteen precious handfuls of Latvia's heirloom peas, nurtured with care and passion by the gardeners at the National Botanical Garden and the seed savers of Latvian Permaculture Association, have been entrusted to Latvian plant gene bank for safekeeping. These seeds, a testament to our agricultural heritage, will help ensure a sustainable and resilient food supply for generations to come.
